You know that:
- Darracq Italiana, known today as Alfa Romeo, was founded in 1907 by Italian nobleman Cavaliare Ugo Stella as an Italian-French joint venture.
- The cooperation between the partners did not go well, so already on June 24, 1910, U. Stella founded a new company called ALFA (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili).
- In the same year, ALFA produced its first 24HP car. The car was technically advanced for its time, but Italy, ravaged by the deep economic crisis of 1909, did not like the automobile industry much, and the factory was closed.
- In 1915, ALFA joined forces with Nicola Romeo & C to work together on a state contract to repair wagons. This time the collaboration went well and the merger in 1918 created today's Alfa Romeo.
The First World War was raging in Europe, and only after its end was Alfa Romeo's car production resumed. Here began a new era of the brand that we still know today.
- The car company's logo was created by Italian designer Romano Cattaneo in 1910 when he was inspired by the coat of arms of the Visconti family on a castle tower in Milan while waiting for tram number 14.
- The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a mid-range sedan launched in 2016. In 2017, the car won the European Car of the Year award.
- The body design was designed by Andrea Loi, the interior was designed by designer Inna Kondakova. Ferrari technical director Philippe Krief was responsible for the technical side.
- The car is currently manufactured at the Cassino Frosinone plant.
- The Giulia Quadrifoglio was designed as a competitor to the Mercedes AMG C63 or the BMW M3.
