You know that:
- Maserati was founded in Bologna on 14 December 1914 by the brothers Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, Ernesto and Mario, first as a car repair and spark plug factory.
- The original name of the company was Societá Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati.
- They built their first car, the Tipo 26, in 1926, with which they immediately won the Targa Florio race.
- The race was driven by Alfieri Maserati himself.
- In 1937, the brothers sold the car company to the Orsi family, but continued to work there as engineers.
- Since 1940, the company has been based in Modena, Italy.
- Mario, who had artistic talent, was the creator of the car company's emblem, the Neptune trident (symbol of the city of Bologna).
- During World War II, the factory was forced by the state apparatus to produce parts for machines for the army.
- An extremely successful Maserati racer was the Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio, who won the prestigious World Championship with a Maserati 250F.
- Today, the Maserati brand is one of the most successful sports car manufacturers in terms of number of units sold.
- The design of the car had to be elegant, dynamic and reflect the Italian character. The car's acceleration had to be instantaneous and stunning, like a racing special.
