Did you know:
- The car manufacturer Lancia first introduced the Delta model in 1979. The body design was created by none other than Giorgio Giugiaro himself.
- In 1980, Lancia even won the Car of the Year award.
- After the initial enthusiasm, unpleasant issues started appearing in the production vehicles. Nearly every unit suffered from electrical system failures, frequent engine breakdowns, and rapid corrosion of the bodywork, which was made from low-quality steel imported from Russia.
- Sales declined and the unfavorable financial situation threatened the company's existence. Something had to be done. That “something” was the creation of a racing team and the modification of the car into the HF Integrale version.
- Lancia became a six-time World Rally Champion, and the car once again attracted global attention.
- The production line also went through significant changes. The Russian steel was scrapped, the vehicles received a new engine, new interior, and a completely new electrical system. The quality of the cars improved significantly, but despite all the successful changes, the Delta model never reached the expected sales.
- A total of only 47,757 first-generation Delta vehicles were produced.
- The last two units produced were shipped to a customer in Japan.

Jeremy Clarkson on the Lancia HF Integrale:
“You feel every inch of it so juicy, so powerful, and so exciting. It’s a grippy beast that seeks out corners, exits them with all four wheels gripping, and immediately heads for the next one.”
